Custom HVAC Labels
A tech on a no-cool call in July should not be digging through three bins to find a 45/5 capacitor. Our magnetic labels put clear names on van shelving, bin fronts and shop parts racks so the part comes off the shelf on the first try. Heavy white lettering on a solid color field, mounted with exposed N52 magnets.
How to lay out an HVAC service van
Most HVAC vans organize by how often a part saves a call. Put the fast movers closest to the door and label them first: Capacitors, Contactors, Relays, Fuses, Igniters and Flame Sensor. Then group the slower electrical parts like transformers, control boards and Motors, and give refrigeration its own shelf: Driers, Schrader cores, Core Tools, Gauges, Hoses and Brazing.
Our labels are up to 12 characters, so refrigerant names like R-410A, R-454B and R-32 fit easily on a cylinder shelf or rack. Keep the label short and let the bin hold the detail; a shelf labeled Capacitors with sized dividers inside beats a label trying to list every rating.
Do magnets stick to van shelving?
Most steel van shelving systems and steel parts cabinets are a good fit for our exposed N52 magnets, which sit directly on the surface and hold through potholes and door slams. Some upfit systems use aluminum shelving and many parts bins are plastic, and magnets will not stick to either. For those, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing option in the builder.
Heat is the other thing to plan for. Our labels are PLA plastic, which softens around 55 to 60C, and the inside of a parked van in summer sun can get there. Mount labels low on the shelving and away from windows, and do not leave them on the dashboard or a roof rack. In the shop, keep them off furnace cabinets and anything near a brazing torch.
Color coding electrical, refrigerant and filters
Each order prints in one color, which makes color coding simple. Cobalt Blue reads cleanly for electrical parts, Workshop Red works well for refrigerant and anything under pressure, and Heritage Black suits filters, belts and general stock in the shop or warehouse. To color-code, place one order per color; each has its own 5-label minimum.
On the shop side, filter racks and controls shelves benefit from labels you can move. When you change filter sizes or switch a thermostat line, pull the label and move it to the new shelf with no adhesive to scrape. Wipe labels with a damp cloth when they get dusty.
HVAC label sets
Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.
Van Electrical Bins labels
Magnetic hvac van labels for capacitors and contactors. Fast moving electrical parts go closest to the van door. Label bins for capacitors, contactors, relays and igniters so a no-cool or no-heat call gets the part on the first trip back to the truck.

Refrigerant Shelf labels
Magnetic refrigerant shelf labels. Give refrigeration its own labeled shelf. Refrigerant types, recovery gear and gauges each get a spot, and driers, Schrader cores and brazing supplies stay together so a leak repair has everything in one place.

Filter Rack labels
Magnetic air filter size labels for shelving. Label each slot on the shop filter rack by size so stock is easy to count and pull for maintenance routes. When you change sizes or ratings, move the magnetic label to the new slot with nothing to scrape off.

Controls and Drain labels
Magnetic labels for thermostat and controls shelving. Controls and condensate parts are slower movers that still save a call. Label a shelf for thermostats, sensors and zoning parts, and a bin for pumps, float switches and drain line fittings.

Dispatch Board labels
Magnetic dispatch board labels for hvac service. Fixed headers for the shop dispatch whiteboard. Write the tech, address and unit beside each field with a dry-erase marker, and move the call type and status labels as the day changes.

HVAC label questions
Do magnetic labels stick to HVAC van shelving?
Yes on steel shelving and steel cabinets. Many upfit systems use aluminum, and most parts bins are plastic, and magnets will not stick to those; choose the 3M VHB adhesive option instead.
Will the labels hold up in a hot service van?
Keep them low and out of direct sun. The labels are PLA, which softens around 55 to 60C, so they should not go on dashboards, near windows or on roof racks.
Can I fit refrigerant names like R-410A on a label?
Yes. Each label holds up to 12 characters including numbers and hyphens, so R-410A, R-454B and R-32 all fit.
Can I label filter sizes on a shop rack?
Yes. Sizes like 16x25x1 fit within the 12 character limit, and the magnetic mount lets you move labels when you change stock.
How fast do custom HVAC labels ship?
They are printed to order in Oregon and ship in 3 to 5 business days with free US shipping.
