Custom Farm & Ranch Labels
A working farm runs out of a dozen storage spots at once: the shop cabinet, the tack room, the vet supply shelf, the feed room and the parts bins for every implement. Our labels put big white words on a solid color field so whoever is doing chores tonight can find the wormer, the shear pins or the fence pliers without calling you.
What to label first on a farm or ranch
Start where the questions come from. The vet supply cabinet is a good first stop: Vaccines, Wormers, Syringes, Needles, Banding and Ear Tags on separate shelves keeps a hired hand or a teenager from grabbing the wrong box during a long day at the chute. Label the shelf or bin, and always read the product's own label and your vet's instructions before using anything.
Next is the equipment parts stash. Shear Pins, Hitch Pins, Filters, Belts and Chains are the parts you need in a hurry with a baler or mower down in the field. A labeled drawer for each one means a quick trip to the shop instead of a search. In the tack room, label by job: Halters, Lead Ropes, Bridles, Saddle Pads, Grooming and Hoof Care.
Where the magnets stick in a barn and shop
Each label carries exposed N52 neodymium magnets that sit right on the steel, so they grip hard and you can move them whenever the shop gets reorganized. They hold well on painted steel tool chests, steel shop cabinets, steel shelving, steel gun safes and most refrigerator doors, which is handy for a vaccine fridge.
Magnets do not stick to wood stall fronts, plywood tack room walls, plastic feed bins, aluminum trailers or most stainless steel. For those, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing option in the builder. It is semi-permanent, so pick the spot before you press it down.
Honest limits: sun, heat and weather
These labels are printed in PLA plastic, which softens around 55 to 60C. That is fine inside a barn, shop or tack room, but a pickup dashboard, a toolbox lid sitting in July sun or a spot near an engine can get hotter than that. Keep them indoors or in shade. Long outdoor UV exposure also fades the color over time, so they are not meant for gates, fence posts or equipment parked outside year round.
Dust and grime wipe off with a damp cloth or a mild cleaner. Do not pressure wash them, and do not use them on feed or water containers that animals eat or drink from.
Color and font for a farm shop
Workshop Red reads well against grey steel and in dim barn light, which is why we suggest it here. Block lettering stays bold from across the aisle. If you want to color-code, a common split is red for the shop, blue for the vet cabinet and black for the tack room. Each order prints in one color, so place one order per color, each with its own 5-label minimum.
Farm & Ranch label sets

Farm & Ranch label questions
Will magnetic labels stick to a wood tack room wall or stall?
No. Magnets only grip ferrous steel. For wood walls, stall fronts and plastic bins, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing option in the builder.
Can I leave these labels in my truck or on equipment outside?
We do not recommend it. The labels are PLA plastic, which softens around 55 to 60C, and a dashboard or toolbox in summer sun can pass that. Long UV exposure also fades the color, so keep them indoors or in shade.
What should I label in a livestock vet supply cabinet?
Most people label shelves by category: Vaccines, Wormers, Syringes, Needles, Banding, Ear Tags, Bandages and First Aid. Label the shelf, and keep each product in its original packaging with its own instructions.
How long can a label be?
Up to 12 characters. The real limit is printed width, up to 243mm, and the builder checks every word live before you order.
How fast do custom farm labels ship?
They are printed to order in Oregon and ship in 3 to 5 business days with free US shipping.
