Custom Medical & Surgical Labels
Clinic supply carts, exam room cabinets and OR supply carts get restocked by many hands. Large, high-contrast labels with the exact terms your team uses cut search time and restocking errors.
Labels that match how your team restocks
A drawer that says Supplies helps nobody at 3am. The labels that work in clinical settings name the exact item and, where it matters, the size: Gloves S, Gloves M, Gloves L. Surgical teams usually label OR supply carts the way a case runs: Laps, Raytec, Sutures, Blades, Bovie Tips and Irrigation, with Specimen bags close at hand, so a circulating nurse can pull what is needed without reading fine print on a bin. Short terms such as Foley and EBL also make clean fixed headers on the OR room board where the circulator keeps counts and totals.
In clinic exam rooms, consistency matters more than anything. Label every room the same way (Gauze, Swabs, Bandages, Tape, Syringes, Needles, Speculums, Urine Cups) and keep each item in the same drawer position, so a medical assistant or float nurse can work in any room and find things without asking. Set the quantity per label in the builder, one per room for each term.
Readable at a glance, built to be wiped down
Each label is 34mm tall with heavy white lettering on a solid color field, which is far easier to read than a printed bin card, especially for staff wearing face shields or working under procedure lights. We recommend our Hyperlegible font option for clinical settings. It was designed for readers with low vision and keeps similar characters such as I, l and 1 distinct.
The top surface is flat and smooth with no raised lettering to trap debris, so it wipes down with standard surface disinfectant wipes. The labels are 3D-printed PLA, which softens around 55 to 60C: wipe them, but never autoclave them, soak them in solvents or mount them near warmers and sterilizers. They are organizational labels, not a medical device, and they are not sterile.
Will they stick to my carts?
Most painted steel supply carts, crash carts and anesthesia carts are magnetic, and our exposed N52 magnets hold firmly. Many case carts and OR shelving units are 304 stainless steel, which is usually not magnetic, and plastic carts never are. Test with a fridge magnet: if it sticks, the labels will. If not, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder, an optional add-on (price confirmed at order) for a semi-permanent mount.
Magnetic labels have one big advantage in clinical spaces: when a cart is reconfigured for a new service line, a new preference card or a new supply contract, you move the labels instead of scraping off old stickers.
Color coding carts without extra words
Each order prints in one color, so color coding means one order per color, each with the 5-label minimum. A common setup is Cobalt Blue for routine stock, Heritage Black for procedure-specific carts and Workshop Red for anything that needs a second look, such as Sharps or Specimen. Keep the scheme the same in every room so staff learn it once.
Medical & Surgical label sets
Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.
Patient Whiteboard labels
Magnetic patient whiteboard labels. Fixed field labels for the patient room whiteboard. Staff write the changing details beside each header with a dry-erase marker, and the headers stay put, straight and readable from the bed and the doorway, shift after shift.

Medical & Surgical label questions
Can these labels be disinfected?
Yes, wipe them with standard surface disinfectant wipes. The labels are printed PLA, so do not autoclave or soak them, and avoid prolonged contact with strong solvents.
Do magnetic labels stick to medical supply carts?
They stick to painted steel drawer faces, which covers most procedure, crash and anesthesia carts. Plastic carts and most stainless steel case carts are not magnetic; use the 3M VHB adhesive option for those.
Which font is easiest to read on an OR cart?
Our Hyperlegible option, based on a typeface designed for low-vision readers. It keeps commonly confused characters such as I, l and 1 clearly different, which matters for sizes and counts.
Can we order matching labels for every exam room?
Yes. Add each label with a quantity, for example 8 of Gauze for eight exam rooms. Pricing is $13.99 for the first 5 labels, then $2.00 for each extra label, dropping to $1.75 each past 25 labels and $1.50 each past 50.
Are these labels a regulated medical product?
No. They are organizational labels for storage, not medical devices, and they do not replace required hazard or regulatory signage.
