Custom Craft & Sewing Room Labels
A craft room fills up one project at a time until nobody can find the bobbins. Our labels put bold white words on a solid color field, big enough to read from the cutting table, so thread, notions, fabric and paper supplies each have a home you can see at a glance.
What to label in a sewing room
Start with notions, because they are small and they scatter. Thread, Bobbins, Needles, Pins, Zippers, Buttons and Elastic each get a drawer or bin of their own. Then sort fabric by type rather than color: Cottons, Knits, Fleece and Flannel on separate shelves, with Fat Quarters and Scraps kept apart so precuts do not get buried in yardage.
Quilters often add Batting and Interfacing labels near the cutting table, plus a WIPs shelf for works in progress so half-finished projects have one place to live instead of every flat surface in the room.
Paper crafts, painting and the craft cart
A rolling craft cart works best labeled by tier: Cardstock and Paper on one, Stamps and Ink on another, Paint, Brushes and Glue on the third. Embroidery stitchers can split Floss, Hoops and Patterns. Keep each label to one or two short words so the letters stay large, which matters when you are scanning a wall of identical drawers.
Each order prints in one color. To color-code, for example blue for sewing, red for paper crafts and black for paint, place one order per color, each with its own 5-label minimum.
Which craft room surfaces hold a magnet
Each label carries exposed N52 neodymium magnets that sit directly on the metal, so they grip hard and slide to a new spot whenever you rearrange. Steel pegboard panels, steel cabinets, metal rolling utility carts, steel drawer units and filing cabinets all work well.
Cube shelving, wood furniture, plastic drawer towers, clear bins and aluminum frames are not magnetic. For those, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing option in the builder. It is semi-permanent, so place it where you want it to stay.
Keep labels away from the iron
The labels are printed in PLA plastic, which softens around 55 to 60C. That is far below the heat of a clothes iron, a heat press or a hot glue gun, so keep labels clear of the pressing station and do not rest a hot tool against them. A sunny windowsill in summer is also worth avoiding. Dust and lint wipe off with a damp cloth or a mild cleaner.
Craft & Sewing Room label sets
Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.

Craft & Sewing Room label questions
Do magnetic labels stick to a pegboard in a craft room?
On a steel pegboard, yes, and they hold firmly. Hardboard and plastic pegboards are not magnetic, so choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing option for those.
Will these labels work on plastic drawer towers or cube shelves?
Magnets do not stick to plastic or wood. Pick the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder for drawer towers, cube shelves and clear bins.
Are the magnets safe near a sewing machine?
Mount the labels on shelves, carts and cabinets rather than on the machine itself, especially a computerized or embroidery machine, and keep them away from bank cards and phones.
How long can a craft room label be?
Up to 12 characters. The real limit is printed width, up to 243mm, and the builder checks each word live before you order.
How fast do custom craft room labels ship?
They are printed to order in Oregon and ship in 3 to 5 business days with free US shipping.
