Custom Welding Labels
Contact tips, nozzles, tungsten and rod all look alike in a dark drawer. Our magnetic labels put the name on the outside in heavy white lettering on a solid color field, so you find the right consumable without pulling every drawer. They mount with exposed N52 magnets on steel carts, cabinets and fab tables.
What to label on a welding cart and fab bench
Start with consumables, because that is where the hunting happens. A MIG cart usually wants Contact Tips, Nozzles, Diffusers and Liners. A TIG setup wants Tungsten, Cups, Collets and Gas Lens. Rod and wire storage reads best by process and classification: MIG Wire, Flux Core, TIG Rod, then 7018, 6011 or ER70S-6 on the rod oven or bin.
Fab table drawers and the grinding station get labeled by task: Clamps, Magnets, Squares, Soapstone, Flap Discs, Cutoff and Wire Wheels. The Block font holds up well when you are reading through safety glasses or a raised hood in a dim corner of the shop.
Keep labels away from the arc and hot metal
Be realistic about heat. Our labels are PLA plastic, and PLA softens around 55 to 60C. Spatter, a freshly welded part set down on a cart, or a torch passing close by will melt or warp a label. Mount them on drawer fronts and cabinet doors that face away from the work, on the side of the cart opposite the torch hanger, and never on the welding table top, the positioner or near the cutting area.
The same goes for the plasma table and oxy-fuel station. Label the storage cabinet next to the torch, not the torch cart itself if it sits close to the cut. Wipe labels with a damp cloth when grinding dust builds up; they are not chemical-proof, so skip harsh solvents.
Gas cylinder areas and color coding
Labels on a steel cylinder rack or cage help keep full and empty bottles apart and make it obvious which gas is which: Argon, C25, Oxygen, Acetylene. Treat them as an extra visual layer on the rack, not a replacement for the supplier's cylinder labels and markings, and do not stick anything over those.
Each order prints in one color. Workshop Red reads well on a gray or black cart, and many shops pair it with Cobalt Blue for gas and Heritage Black for grinding and abrasives. To color-code, place one order per color; each has its own 5-label minimum.
Welding label sets
Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.
MIG Cart Drawers labels
Magnetic welding cart labels for mig consumables. Contact tips, nozzles and diffusers all look alike in a dark drawer. Label the MIG cart by consumable and wire size so a worn tip gets swapped in seconds and the right liner and drive rolls are always on the cart.

TIG Drawer labels
Magnetic labels for tig torch consumables. TIG parts are small and easy to lose. Give tungsten, cups, collets, collet bodies and gas lens kits their own labeled drawers so you can rebuild a torch front end without dumping a mixed bin on the bench.

Rod and Wire Storage labels
Magnetic welding rod storage labels. Label rod and wire storage by process and classification. A 7018 bin, a 6011 bin and separate spots for stainless and aluminum filler keep the wrong rod out of a critical joint and make reordering obvious.

Fab Table Drawers labels
Magnetic fab table drawer labels. The drawers under the fab table hold layout and fit-up tools. Label them by task so clamps, welding magnets, squares and soapstone are where your hand expects them while the other hand holds a part in place.

Grinding Station labels
Magnetic labels for grinding disc storage. Keep abrasives sorted by job at the grinding station: flap discs for blending, cutoff wheels for cutting, wire wheels for cleanup. Guards and face protection get their own labeled spot so they are on hand every time.

Welding label questions
Do magnetic labels stick to a welding cart?
Yes, most welding carts, drawer cabinets and fab tables are steel, and our exposed N52 magnets grip steel directly. They do not stick to aluminum or most stainless steel; choose the 3M VHB adhesive option for those surfaces.
Will the labels melt near welding?
They can. The labels are PLA, which softens around 55 to 60C, so spatter, hot parts or a torch will damage them. Keep them on storage drawers and cabinets facing away from the arc, never on the weld table or near cutting.
Can I label rod by classification like 7018 or ER70S-6?
Yes. Each label holds up to 12 characters, including numbers and hyphens, so rod and wire classifications fit easily.
Can I use these labels on a gas cylinder rack?
Yes, on a steel rack or cage, as an extra visual guide. They do not replace the supplier's cylinder labels, and they should never cover them.
How fast do custom welding labels ship?
They are printed to order in Oregon and ship in 3 to 5 business days with free US shipping.
