Custom Bar & Back Bar Labels

A bar runs on muscle memory. Label your tiers, spirits and backup storage so a new hire pours from the right bottle on their first shift and closing restock takes minutes, not a scavenger hunt.

Label the system, not just the bottles

Most bar mistakes are tier mistakes: pouring top shelf when the ticket says well, or restocking a premium bottle into the house slot. Labeling each shelf zone with Top Shelf, Premium, Call, House and Well makes your pricing tiers physical. Bartenders stop guessing, managers stop eating the cost difference, and inventory counts line up.

Behind the bar, label spirit families (Vodka, Gin, Rum, Tequila, Whiskey, Bourbon, Scotch, Mezcal) so restocks go back to the same spot every night. In the storage room, label Backup, Mixers, Syrups, Juices and Glassware so the closer can see what is low before the next delivery is ordered.

Will magnets work on bar equipment?

Our exposed N52 magnets stick to painted steel and to magnetic stainless grades such as 430, which is common on some shelving and equipment panels. The most common bar and food-service stainless, 304, is often not magnetic or only weakly magnetic. Test a spot with a fridge magnet. Where it does not hold, or for wood back bars and glass shelves, choose the 3M VHB adhesive backing in the builder.

Wire shelving in storage rooms is usually chrome-plated steel and very magnetic, which makes it the easiest place to start. Magnetic labels can be moved when the cocktail list or the shelf plan changes.

Built for a busy, wet bar

The labels are solid 3D-printed parts with a flat top surface. Spills wipe off with a damp bar towel and the white text is a separate printed color, so there is no ink to smear.

Keep them out of the glass washer and away from its steam, and do not mount them on the warm exhaust panel of an undercounter cooler or ice machine. The labels are PLA plastic, which softens around 55 to 60C, so a dishwasher cycle will warp them. They are not rated for submersion, so pull any label off a shelf before that shelf goes into a sink to soak.

Color coding the back bar

Heritage Black suits a back bar because it looks finished under low light. Workshop Red reads best as a warning, for example on a Backup shelf that should not be touched during service, and Cobalt Blue works well for wine and beer.

Each order prints in one color, so color coding means one order per color, each with the 5-label minimum. A simple plan is one black order for tiers and spirit families and a smaller red order for the few shelves new staff must notice first.

Bar & Back Bar label sets

Ready-made sets of the words this trade labels most, grouped by where they go. Each set opens in the builder with every label in place; add, remove or retype any of them before you order.

Bar & Back Bar label questions

Will these stick to stainless steel bar equipment?

It depends on the grade. Grade 430 stainless and painted steel are magnetic. Grade 304, common behind the bar, often is not. Test with a fridge magnet, and pick the 3M VHB adhesive option where magnets do not hold.

Can bartenders wipe them down?

Yes. Wipe with a damp cloth or bar towel. The flat top surface has no grooves to trap sticky residue. Do not run them through a dishwasher or glass washer.

How many labels do I need for a liquor tier setup?

Count one label per shelf zone, such as Top Shelf, Premium, Call, House and Well, plus one for each spirit family. Ten labels cost $23.99 and sixteen cost $35.99.

Can I put my bar's name or a custom phrase on a label?

Yes, any text up to 12 characters that fits the 243mm width limit. The builder checks width as you type.
